In the past and the present alike, cultural events have always been central to castle life and, as such, are part of our rich cultural tapestry both past and present. The immense Knights’ Hall – also known as the Rilke Hall – hosts countless events throughout the year, ranging from classical evenings of song to chamber concerts and piano recital and author readings from well-known writers.

Rainer Maria Rilke,
as our guest
From the age of 20, poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 – 1926 Prague, Vienna, Paris, Switzerland) sojourned in Italy for one or two months practically every spring.
After his first trip to Venice, he visited his mother in the spa town of Arco on Lake Garda before resuming his travels northwards. He then visited journalist and author Otto Julius Bierbaum, who had rented a wing of the house between 1895 and 1899 from the owner at the time, Count Bruno Khuen-Belasi.
