The gently exposed areas to the east and the south at the foot of the mountains lie between 450 and 550 metres above sea level. The soil structure of lime gravel and weathered porphyry soil, together with the hilly location which ensures stark day-night temperature fluctuations, provides exceptionally good conditions for high-quality viticulture.
